![]() ![]() We were first blown away by the beauty and immediate sense of peace on the property. We just had the most amazing three nights at Lake Natron Camp! There were 5 families all with children ages ranging from 6 months to 12 years. It's a parental issue - but the camp is not a place for kids and they should restrict it (I'd say that about all the camps we stayed at too - kids were always on their phones/ipads even when on safari - leave them home.… The family that brought kids (mercifully only one night for us) chased all the animals away from the camp with their excessive noise and running in areas they shouldn't have been. And it is NOT the place to bring kids - they should restrict kids from coming. And food was really good, but not really overly accommodating to vegetarian/pescatarian diet. Accommodations were good, and well done, but not really designed in any way to keep you cool - thank goodness for the fan at night. And the "pool" was great as well - it was an imperative to keep you cool, but to sit in it and have the little fish nibbling at your feet while you're watching the birds, flamingos, and animals all around you was amazing. And the camp is set up so animals are everywhere and part of the camp - was really fantastic. Be sure to hike out to the waterfall - was fantastic. They were probably the best of all the camps we stayed at at making sure we did activities and things we wanted to do. Five star goes for the excellent location. Though we understand there could be reasons related to the camp being 'Eco friendly', yet it being a luxury camp they should find out ways to cater to both environment and these basic comforts of stay. Also, we could charge our mobile phones only in the dining area as there were no charging points in the room. They provide a box toilet, not convenient for use. The beds and towels were clean but chair seats were dirty and had stains. We thought it was less thoughtful on their part to not have clarified this with the tour operators and not ensuring a smooth check-in for their guests. We found this particularly bothersome as it had already gotten late in the evening when we reached the Lake Natron area after a long and dusty drive. However, we faced difficulty locating the camp on the day of our arrival as there were multiple camps with similar names. Food was good and we had a nice sundowner with complimentary wine. We saw zebras and giraffes around the camp. Numerous flamingoes and other birds on the lake. There is a very magical seclusion around. No other camps or man made structures are visible from this camp area. The stream has numerous small fish, some birds, and is wonderful to wade through. With the elegant Lengai on one side and the lake on the other, the tents sit on a stretch of grassy land with a picturesque stream running between them. ![]() Lovely place but the tents could be better.
